Also known as the Narcissus plant, these are perfect flowers for the springtime! Although they should be planted in fall, they can be planted in spring. You should try to avoid plastic pots, and try larger containers or the ground. They grow best in moderate soil, well-drained soil that are moist in growing season. When picking bulbs, try to get the big ones. Plant it where a little soil is covering the bulb. One to two inches should be fine. I hope you take this to mind, and I give this activity two green thumbs up!
Also right in your home, you can start spring crafts! I have mentioned winter crafts last time, but it’s time to change seasons! It’s a nice way to pass the time, and make something really cute to put in your home. You can choose from a variety of spring crafts here: http://crafts.kaboose.com/holidays/seasons/spring/ . One easy craft you can make for your mom is the tissue paper carnation! You will need: pastel colored tissue paper, pipe cleaners, scissors, and a ruler. First, you need to cut the tissue paper into rectangles of your desired size. Second, stack around 15 pieces of tissue paper. You can use the same or different colors. Third, accordion pleat the tissue paper working from the long side. Next, wind one pipe cleaner around the pleated tissue paper. Then, trim the ends to give the petals a unique look. Trimming the ends into a point or round bump will look very pretty. After, gently separate each layer pulling upwards toward the middle of the flower. Do the second side. Now you have beautiful flowers that can last throughout the year! For more detailed instruction and pictures with it, check out the site for tissue paper flowers. You can make many different things to show your spring spirit!
Winter may have ended, but spring has sprung! There’s many ways to have fun in every season. These activities for anyone, all ages! Grab a friend and do these activities, you’ll have a great time. You can grow a beautiful garden to show off, or you can make crafts at a party! Give it a try, you might just love it!
