Running Club

Running Club

“Ughhh, I am so exhausted from a long day at school, I have so much homework, and my ankle is hurting. I don’t think I should run, but it’s amazing exercise. Well, maybe it wouldn’t hurt to take just an hour out of my day. You know what, I am just going to suck it up and run.”

Running Club is an after school activity in which you run to different destinations. It takes place every Wednesday from 3:15 to 4:15. The only reason that this program works is because we have amazing teachers to guide us and run with us to wherever we are going. The teachers that donate their time for some exercise are Ms. Loftin and Mrs. Peterson. Pretty much all year the students in running club have been working their butts off to get in shape and stick with this fitness club. All year we have been preparing for our six mile to the beach run. This run not only tests your physical strength, but it also tests your mental strength. If you have the mind of a champion then you probably can do it. The beach that we are running to is the Redondo Beach Pier. After a long run we get to buy food, get drinks, or get to go into the water for some fun. You pretty much push yourself to make it to the beach, then get to do whatever and enjoy your time with friends. The big run takes place on Friday, after school, on May 17th.  People who aren’t in running club probably won’t know what an accomplishment it feels like to run that far, because it is truly amazing.
