Ella was really close to her mother, and they had many common things they shared like the same free-spirited nature. One day, when Ella is nearly fifteen, Eleanor, her mother dies. At the moment where her mother’s funeral was happening, Ella meets and befriends Charmont (Char), the Prince of Kyrria.
Not long after her mother’s death , Ella’s father Sir Peter, had to send Ella to finish school with Hattie and Olive, the daughters of the wealthy Dame Olga. Somehow going to school with the girls meant trouble. Hattie, one of the girl , soon discovers that Ella is unable to disobey direct orders and she takes advantage of Ella. When Sir Peter ,Ella’s father, he leaves to continue on his business, and Dame Olga and her daughters had a good chance to take advantage of her too, so they quickly reduce Ella to being an obedient servant in their home. On the other hand, Ella and Char start to fall in love with each through their letters, but Ella rejects him when she realizes her gift of obedience could be used to harm him. Helpless, Ella tricks Char into thinking she has eloped with another man, and left Char heartbroken.
Char returns back from his trip, three-night before the homecoming ball which was held in his honor. Ella, who still loved him, went to the ball in disguise with help of Mandy and Lucinda, who now realized the terrible nature of her gifts. On the third night of the ball, she was dancing with Char, when a jealous Hattie unmasks Ella, forced her to flee. Returning to the manor, she and Mandy attempt to run away, but are thwarted by Char’s arrival.
