You’re Perfect Just The Way You Are

You’re Perfect Just The Way You Are

One autumn morning a patch of young pumpkins grew patiently on Mr. Brown’s farm. Since Halloween was right around the corner Mr. Brown decided to open his farm to the public knowing he would make huge amounts of money by selling these pumpkins. People rushed in and grabbed pumpkins, but Pete a bright, orange pumpkin never seemed to even be examined by a customer and was barely noticed. It was Pete’s dream to be picked not to be the biggest pumpkin or become a pumpkin pie. Why was Pete, this gorgeous looking pumpkin, never picked? All day Pete thought about why he was never picked. All his friends said it was because he was too soft.  True, he was a soft hearted person but wasn’t that a good thing? Little did Pete know that his soft heart created a weak structure which would collapse as soon as you try to carve it. Pete tried to overcome his soft heart so that he could become the best pumpkin ever, but his efforts were useless.  He grew weaker and weaker, but what was happening?  His mom gives him a farewell as she gets picked and says “Don’t change yourself for others, you’re perfect just the way you are”. That’s exactly what was happening to Pete. He doubted his self character which made him weaker. He knew right then it wasn’t so bad being soft hearted it was actually what made him unique. This strength hardened his structure and Pete was very joyous knowing he might be picked any moment. As a cute little baby enters the farm she points to Pete knowing he would be the perfect centerpiece.  Finally Pete’s dream came true and he was picked by a caring baby who understood him. Pete had become a better pumpkin and a magnificent jack o lantern because of learning that he’s perfect just the way he is.
