The Dolls

The Dolls

By  K. Bui, staff writer

One day there was a girl named Kyra. That day Kyra had no one to play with. Then she came to her mom (Mercy) and said, “Mommy, will you play with me?”  She replied, “I’m sorry honey, I can’t. I have to work.”  So Kyra went to the living room and played with her stuffed animals.

The next day, her mom came into the house with a big box. She came to Kyra and said, “Look I got you!” She opened the box and there were three dolls. Her mom told her that those dolls were her when she was little.

Kyra played with then the whole day. At night when she was getting ready for bed, she put the dolls on each side of her. She was about to sleep but she saw lights on the ceiling. She turned to look at her dolls and she saw their eyes glowing. The dolls said, “Hi Mercy, where is Mercy?” Kyra got scared so she pushed them off the bed and hid under the covers until morning.

The next morning she told her mom what had happened. “You probably just imagined it,” says her mom. “That’s not possible.” After that, Kyra forgot about the whole doll talking thing.

Many years had past since Kyra had played with the dolls. When she had her first child, Kyra gave the dolls to her daughter Emily. Emily loved the dolls. She played with them all day long. When Emily got ready for bed, she put the dolls on each side of her. She was about to sleep but saw lights on the ceiling. She looked to her dolls and saw their eyes glowing. They said, “Hi Kyra. Where is Kyra?”
