Red Ribbon Week
“My future is too important to do drugs. Drugs erase dreams. Stay clean, lean and mean, says a football star.” Where did these saying come from? Mrs. Jaeger’s winning door during Red Ribbon Week. What is Red Ribbon Week? “Red Ribbon week is basically to inform the students not to do drugs or alcohol.” says PTSA mom, Mrs. Spellman. Sounds like the school is here for the students. What does Red Ribbon week do for the school? “Red Ribbon week is letting the students know that the school supports them.” Sounds fun! Does Red Ribbon week have any special occasions? “Red Ribbon Week had daily events. The school sold candy grams, planted bright red tulips that will bloom in the spring bulbs, did pledge cards, decorated doors, had a special speaker for 8th graders and did a lot of cool stuff.” It was a really fun week! says Ms. Spellman. Can you guess what was the most popular event? …..drumroll please. Candy Grams! Many students loved sending and receiving candy grams to their friends and even teachers. So everyone, as Mrs. Davies door message said, Stay on Target – To Be Drug Free!
