November has finally started, and you know what that means! Thanksgiving is just around the corner! I have three delicious Thanksgiving treats for you to make. They’re fun and easy, so keep on reading this to find out how to make them!
The first treat is Aut-yum Leaves ( kidpartyfoodideas.com/aut–yum–leaves/) These are basically leaf shaped cookies. The ingredients are:
~1 teaspoon of water
~prepared pie crust
~mini chocolate chips
~peanut butter chips
~flour for work surface
The first step is to heat the oven to 375° and then whisk one egg with a teaspoon of water and set it aside. On a floured surface, roll out the prepared pie crust so that it’s about ⅛-inch thick. You can use a leaf shaped cookie cutter or any other cookie cutter to make as many dough pairs as possible. For the inside, use 4 chocolate chips and peanut butter chips and make sure there is about a ½-inch margin. Then grab your bowl that had the whisked egg and water and then wash onto the edge, put the second part of dough on top and then seal with your fingers. Brush the top of the egg wash and sprinkle it generously with raw sugar. Bake the leaves on a cookie sheet until the edges begin to brown. Once that’s done, take it out, let it cool, and then serve.
The next treat is an Oreo Turkey. (www.ourbestbites.com/2010/11/oreo–turkeys-and-cookie-pilgrim-hats/) The only ingredients you need are:
Use half of an Oreo cookie for the body and a whole oreo cookie for a tail. Then use royal icing to put the Whopper on as a head. With the royal icing, attach the candy corn on the whole oreo cookie so your turkey has a tail. And then you can draw on a face with the royal icing if you would like. It doesn’t only look good but it tastes good.
The last Thanksgiving treat is Marshmallow Pilgrim Hats. (spoonful.com/recipes/marshmallow–pilgrim–hats) All you need for this is:
~yellow frosting (optional)
First, put the chocolate striped cookies, spread out on a sheet of wax paper. Then, melt the chocolate chips in a microwave or double boiler. Next, stick a toothpick into a marshmallows, and then dip it in the melted chocolate. After doing that, put the marshmallow on a cookie. If you would like, you could draw a little square on the hat with the yellow frosting. Enjoy!
These were a few, easy little Thanksgiving treats to make. I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
