DC Comics – Are They Making The Right Decisions?
Legendary Marvel rival and gray tint enthusiast DC Comics has been making some hasty decisions with their franchises, for better or for worse they’re going to try and ride this out. First of all, Marvel so far has thoroughly schooled DC in their movie department, no denying that. Yet to DC’s credit they’re only just starting, and their decision to make team up movies could be beneficial to them, yet not as successful as solo movies which Marvel has pioneered for the past 7 years. Although team up movies could kickstart the stories a bit quicker and get audiences interested in them. And hey, no lying when I say DC has had successful movies, but they’re not without their blunders aswell. To DC’s credit once again, they’ve been in the movie business longer than Marvel and could very well make a comeback. But with the hasty decisions and planned sequels could it be a blessing or a curse? Well for starters what if the franchises don’t do well at the box office, not saying they won’t but who knows? Second; what if they aren’t received well? Man of Steel; while a good movie in my eyes, it didn’t have a walk in the park with some people. And now we get to the sporadic casting of various DC characters, I won’t lie I really like this idea. Not every character needs a huge movie or a deep backstory, so seeing certain characters that some audiences know will get them more hyped for a sequel. Well again, for better or for worse, DC is going to ride this out and look good, but some people will always look at them and see DC playing catch-up.
