Book Review: The Lost Hero

The Lost Hero

By: Hy Hoang and A. Kabir

“The Lost Hero” is the first book of a new series, The Heroes of Olympus created by the author Rick Riordan who is also the author of the best-selling Percy Jackson and the Olympians series. It is a continuation of the Percy Jackson series but new characters are introduced throughout the book. The Lost Hero is a fantasy book with humorous moments and action packed moments where you won’t want to put the book down.

Rick Riordan is a great author who has written the five Percy Jackson books and the first book of the thrilling new series The Kane Chronicles. Rick taught English and history at private and public schools in the San Francisco bay for 15 years. Rick is also the author for the first book 39 Clues: The Maze of Bones, which is another bestseller. Rick’s first children’s fiction book was Percy Jackson: The Lightning Thief, it was a story he told his son because he wanted to learn about the Greek Gods. After hearing the story his son recommends his dad to make a book out of that exact story. Rick lives in San Antonio with his wife and two sons.

In the book the readers are introduced to three main characters in the book: Leo, Jason, and Piper. Jason has forgotten everything about himself and seeked to regain his memories. Leo has had a rough life but soon finds himself friends with Jason and heading to Camp Half-blood. Piper is the daughter of a famous movie star and the girlfriend of Jason.  The three friends journey to Camp-Half Blood (which is mentioned in the Percy Jackson series) and meet familiar and unfamiliar faces. They soon embark on a perilous quest to save the goddess of marriage and wife of Zeus, Hera. There were many obstacles like Cyclopes which can only be killed by demigods (children of the gods) and gods together. The long journey takes them throughout the whole world.

The journey will be harsh but with all 3 of them together they can pull it off. The only way you can find out is to read this exciting novel.  We give this book a rating of 9.5 out of 10.
